Course of Violin - Music Theory in Italian/English or French

I’m a professional violinist and composer, originally from Portugal. I lived in London for 12 years and I hold a Master of Music degree in Violin and Composition for Screen from the Royal College of Music, London. I provide Violin, Music Theory, and Composition lessons. I have been teaching for over 10 years, both privately and in schools. I have helped dozens of students achieve their goals in music, many of whom achieved Distinction in their music exams. I have an extensive orchestral experience and I write music for film and TV. I prepare students for ABRSM, Trinity or any other music conservatory exam in Violin and Music Theory. I can help students learn how to read music and to understand how music works, as opposed to a memory-based approach most music teachers follow. I encourage my students to be creative and to experiment composing their own pieces. My approach is based, on the one hand, on a continuous quest for sound quality, which is only possible by taking into account both the technical and musical aspects of the works. On the other hand, I focus on working to develop an adequate posture, knowing that a bone posture is an essential element for long-term progress as well as a means of reducing or even eliminating the risk of injury. which is unfortunately associated with the practice of the violin traditionally.

Hello everybody! I am Michela, an Italian teacher and native speaker settled in Brussels right now. I decided to become a teacher a long time ago and I worked a lot for that. This is why I graduated in a M.A. in Italian as a second language and I passed several Teaching certifications (DILS and TEFL) to be sure I will be prepared enough to guarantee the best experience for my students. I also taught Italian to adults for one year and English in the Italian Public High School. I love my language and my country. I also love talking with other nationalities to share cultures and lifestyles. When I teach, I'd rather prefer a communicative approach, that means to focus on the communicative skills to let the student be able to start a conversation and use the language in real situations as soon as possible. This doesn't mean that the grammar is not taken into consideration, but it means that grammar will be learnt through the use of language in a deductive way and as something useful to understand the language, instead of being a top-down process.

Dear students: My name is Denise and I'm a professional singer with a singing master's degree from Catalonia's Music College (ESMUC) specialized in Historical Singing, Musicology and Music Education. My experience runs mostly in early and classical music with an active performing life, nevertheless I also have the experience and knowledge of popular musical styles such as Latin-American folk, jazz and musicals. As a docent or vocal coach I've collaborate with different academic institutions and private artistic projects, focusing mostly on international students or social integration programs. Hello everyone! My musical journey began when I was just four years old, starting with the piano. Later, at the age of seven, I eagerly embraced the violin, adding its enchanting melodies to my repertoire. I achieved a professional mid-grade in both piano and violin. Fueled by my love for music, I moved to Rotterdam, Netherlands, to pursue a Bachelor's degree at Codarts University of Arts. Under the guidance of teachers like Natasha Morozova and Hed Yaron Meyerson, I refined my skills and nurtured my artistic vision. After completing my Bachelor's studies, I continued my musical exploration in Codarts' Master's program. Alongside my classical training, I've always been intrigued by the therapeutic potential of music. In 2023, I earned certification in Music Therapy, expanding my horizons and deepening my connection to the healing power of music. In collaboration with my colleagues, I am member of the Olga Trio. Our mission is to highlight the works of women composers throughout history. Our debut performance at the IV Concurso Nacional de Interpretación de Obras de Mujeres Compositoras was a proud moment, affirming our commitment to amplifying diverse voices in music. Beyond classical music, I've always been drawn to exploring different genres and styles. As a member of the Jong Metropole Orchestra in 2023, I relished the opportunity to collaborate with musicians from diverse backgrounds, pushing the boundaries of traditional musical conventions.
